Sustanon (Testosterone) General Information
Sustanon is an anabolic and androgenic steroid that contains a blend of various testosterone esters. Initially produced by the pharmaceutical company Organon as a medicinal remedy for patients with reduced natural testosterone production, it was designed for substitution therapy. Due to its pronounced anabolic effects, Sustanon can also be used for muscle mass growth. The ester mix in Sustanon ensures stable levels of the hormone in the body due to its composition with varying absorption rates. The drug is comprised of four esters: propionate, isocaproate, phenylpropionate, and decanoate.
Each male hormone ester in Sustanon has different absorption rates, leading to a continuous maintenance of maximum concentrations of anabolic hormones for an entire month. However, it's important to note that Sustanon is not a ready-made combination drug, as each component of the steroid converts into testosterone. The drug is not recommended for competing athletes, as its metabolites can be detected up to three months after the end of the cycle.
Sustanon (Testosterone) Benefits
Sustanon is utilized for various effects, including:
- Increase in muscle volume: A solo cycle can result in a gain of approximately 6 kg of muscle.
- Improved strength.
- Suppressed catabolism in muscle tissue.
- Improved blood-forming: Sustanon increases the number of red blood cells, leading to better endurance.
- Healthier appetite.
- Improved sex life and increased libido.
Sustanon (Testosterone) Possible Side Effects
As with other forms of the male hormone, Sustanon can undergo aromatization, leading to potential adverse reactions such as gynecomastia, swelling, suppressed endogenous testosterone production, and excess fat deposits.
Aromatization-related side effects can be prevented by using aromatase inhibitors. Antiestrogens like Tamoxifen should only be used as part of post-cycle therapy. Aromatase inhibitors should be initiated from the second week of the cycle to maintain estrogen levels. Anastrozole should be used at 0.5 mg every two days. The use of aromatase inhibitors is discontinued 1-2 weeks after the last injection of the cycle. Post-cycle therapy (PCT) is started 3 weeks after the last injection, employing Tamoxifen and testosterone boosters for 3-4 weeks to restore testosterone production.
Testicular atrophy is possible due to reduced male sex hormone production, and this can be avoided by limiting the injection cycle to no longer than 8 weeks. For extended cycles, chorionic gonadotropin usage is recommended.
Endogenous testosterone conversion to dihydrotestosterone may lead to acneiform rash, hair loss, and an enlarged prostate.
Athletes may experience a higher body temperature and a fever-like state during the drug cycle. Like other steroids, Sustanon increases the concentration of bad cholesterol in the bloodstream. It is recommended to use omega-3 throughout the entire duration of the cycle.
Infiltrations, characterized by "lumps" or densities in the glute area and other injection sites, may occur after steroid injections. These infiltrations typically dissolve in 2-5 days, and massaging and warming the sites can expedite the process.
Sustanon (Testosterone) Other Information
The optimal duration for solo usage of Sustanon is approximately 6-8 weeks, with weekly injections required to maintain a high concentration of the active component in the bloodstream. The recommended injection site is the gluteus, and the suggested dosage ranges from 250-500 mg.
Dosages exceeding 750-1000 mg per week pose higher risks of side effects that may outweigh the potential benefits. To maximize muscle growth and other effects of the drug, it is advised to complement its usage with sports supplements and a well-structured diet.
The main components of Sustanon remain active for 4 weeks after the final injection. Starting post-cycle therapy (PCT) immediately after the cycle is deemed ineffective. The use of antiestrogens (Clomid, Tamoxifen, Toremifene) should be postponed for 2-3 weeks as the concentration of androgen gradually decreases.
